The National Cycle Network Route 43 runs along the canal towpath next to the park, meaning you can walk or cycle into Swansea Marina or towards Ystradgynlais further into the Upper Swansea Valley.

Locally, there are plenty of sports clubs to get involved with; CPD Clydach football club have thriving boys and girls’ sections, Vardre Rugby Club is located in the village and Clydach cricket club has senior and junior teams playing at Waverley Park. Clydach is also home to Dynamic Rock, a dedicated indoor climbing centre that offers a great climbing experience for beginners and advanced climbers alike.

If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to walk the dog or go for a run, Cwm Clydach nature reserve is nearby at Craig Cefn Parc. The reserve follows the river Clydach as it winds its way up the valley, if you’re looking for a longer adventure you can continue out of the nature reserve and onto Gellionnen Mountain.
